Anam Cara is looking for compassionate, caring, and supportive staff and volunteers who are wanting to make a difference and help the people of Geelong.
Our staff includes a highly skilled range of medical and professional staff, and we are looking for people to join our team who are passionate about providing quality care to those at the end of their life.
The volunteers at Anam Cara House Geelong are our gold. From all walks of life, they fulfil many roles including Office & Administration, Day and Overnight Palliative Care, Housekeeping, End-of-life Care and Transport.

Anam Cara House Geelong (ACHG) is a values-based organisation. We care deeply about our community and our people. We pride ourselves on offering a flexible and inclusive workplace in a supportive team environment.
Our new, world class facility has been built at Deakin University (Waurn Ponds) and has been designed to provide community palliative care in a home-like environment when people need it most, including end-of-life and overnight palliative care, which also supports the carers and family members of our guests.
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic People and Culture Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (with flexible work options!). This role is an integral part of our organisation, responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with our purpose and values. This newly created position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be a member of our Leadership Team.
The People and Culture Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources including:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to the unique needs of our organisation.
- Recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they receive the necessary training that will set them up for success.
- Oversee performance management and professional development programs.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to strategise on workforce planning and talent management.
- Maintain compliance with Australian workplace laws.
- Shape the culture to be a nurturing and supportive environment.
The People and Culture Manager will be a key member and partner to the leadership team in shaping HR strategies that drive organisational performance and employee engagement.
This includes leading our priority of shaping a productive, collaborative and compliant workplace culture where our employees can thrive and contribute to ACHG’s growth and success.

We are looking for an experienced People and Culture Manager who has:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR management, including leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of Australian workplace laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive culture change and employee engagement.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with organisational goals.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and related software.
- Previous experience in the health sector would be advantageous.
