Living Well Day Program

Empowering Quality of Life,

Every Step of the Way

About The Program

At Anam Cara, we believe palliative care is about supporting individuals and their families from the moment they are diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.

It’s not just about the final days – it’s about living well, everyday.

Our Living Well Palliative Care Program provides compassionate care, exemplary clinical support, and a welcoming community to help guests live with purpose, connection and comfort.

What we offer

Activities and Services

Education Opportunities

We empower guests and carers through both formal and informal education designed to enhance daily living.

These sessions take place at Anam Cara and may be delivered one-on-one or in small group sessions. Topics range from medication management and falls prevention, to nutrition advice and navigating daily challenges. Whether it’s a casual chat with a clinician or a scheduled presentation, each interaction is focused on building confidence, independence, and a greater sense of control.

Who It’s For

This program is designed for people living with a life-limiting illness who are well enough to participate – regardless of their geographical location.

Why Choose the Day Program

By joining the program early in your diagnosis, you benefit from:

  • Improved quality of life through pain and symptom management.
  • Opportunities for social interaction and meaningful connection.
  • Education and support for advance care planning.
  • Seamless access to palliative care services, easing the transition to end-of-life care if needed.

Supporting Carers

We recognise the vital role carers play, and offer dedicated support every step of the way

Our Carer Support Group runs weekly on Fridays at Anam Cara, offering a safe and understanding place to connect with others in similar situations.

Our Spiritual Care and Wellbeing practitioner also offers individual support – both through informal check-ins and by request – ensuring every carer feels seen, heard, and supported.
